The 2016 ATBA Spring Sales Stakes, run on May 8 at Turf Paradise, featured an encore performance by McKenzie Honey, winner of the faster trial, as she ran down early pacesetter Spotlight Gal before racing to victory. Yo Y Me, the runner-up behind French General in the other trial, ran on to finish second, beaten a length and a half. The final time for the five-furlong event was :59.19. McKenzie Honey is a Kentucky-bred daughter of Parading, owned by Barbara Eakin, Jonathan Nance and Steve Smith, and trained by Nance.
Race favorite French General ran seventh after a troubled trip.
