Yavapai sale vetoed; USDA to negotiate with underbidder

The United States Department of Agriculture has rejected a bid for Yavapai Downs by Gary Miller, even after it was increased to $3.5 million, and is negotiating with backup bidder Joe Davis of Texas. Track record setter for Arizona sire Margie’s Wildcat

Case Cracker, a 2-year-old daughter of Margie’s Wildcat, set a two-furlong track record at Golden Gate on April 6. Dominating a maiden special weight field, Case Cracker won by four lengths in :21.20. Margie’s Wildcat stands at Fleming Thoroughbred Farm LLC in Willcox, Arizona.

Yavapai Downs draws top bid of $3.25 million
