Arizona freshman sire Ibetiwin was represented by his first stakes winner on August 19, 2012 at Columbus Races in Columbus, Nebraska when Youbetshewon run away with a win in the Club House Special Stakes. She distanced her competition by more than 8 lengths, covering the 6 furlongs in 1:15.60. The 2-year-old filly is one of six foals in the first crop of Ibetiwin and so far his only starter. The 9-year-old son of Western Fame (by Gone West), out of the winning General Meeting mare Strictly Speaking, won two stakes as a 2-year-old himself, including the ATBA Fall Sales Stakes. He stands for a private fee at Bill Rasmussen’s Sarival Farms in Glendale, Arizona.

Turf Paradise will offer two new stakes events this year for older horses that went through the ATBA Fall Mixed Sale or are Arizona-breds. The Cactus Wren Stakes and Cactus Flower Stakes, both for 3-year-olds and upward, are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.
