Attention District 1 Breeders

Help ensure that Arizona thoroughbred breeders are heard as the Governor’s office begins final work on the upcoming budget. ATBA lobbyist Elaine Arena has been working with the state’s legislative leadership to get breeders’ awards into the budget but we need your help in lobbying Speaker Andy Tobin.

Speaker Tobin lives in Paulden and should know first-hand how important it is to our state’s thoroughbred breeders that breeders’ awards are back in the budget. Anyone from areas including Camp Verde, Chino Valley, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Jerome, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona or Williams should call the Speaker’s office first thing on Monday. The telephone number is 602 926-5172.

As Dewey, Black Canyon City, Yarnell, New River, Carefree, Cave Creek and Anthem will be in his district by election time, ATBA members living in those areas also are encouraged to call, along with residents of Kingman, Wikieup, and anywhere in La Paz and Mohave counties.

Just let them know your name, where you live, that you are a thoroughbred breeder and support breeders’ awards, as well as any additional information you can provide.
