Saturday’s $35,000 Walter Cluer Memorial Stakes at Turf Paradise was taken in dramatic fashion by Arizona-bred Red Zeus, who battled to a narrow victory over Back Alley Rally in 1:35.42 for one mile on the turf. Peggy Hopwood owns and bred the 3-year-old Red Sky’s gelding, who earlier this year won the Gene Fleming Breeders’ Derby and Arizona Stallion Stakes at this track.
