The $35,000 City of Phoenix Stakes, run Dec. 14 at Turf Paradise, was a showcase for Arizona-bred Tribal Gal, who won the six-furlong event by three lengths in 1:08.85. John Pendergast bred and campaigns the 3-year-old daughter of Tribal Rule, who has won five of 11 starts this year including three stakes at Turf Paradise.
