ATBA Fall Mixed Sale graduate Highway Boss won the $59,515 Everett Nevin Stakes at the Oak Tree at Pleasanton meet on July 6. Having broken his maiden in his previous outing at Santa Anita, Highway Boss ran on late to win the five and a half-furlong Everett Nevin by a head over Global Magician. Prior to that he ran fifth behind Brookerson in the ATBA Spring Sales Stakes at Turf Paradise in May.

A 2-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding by Street Boss, Highway Boss runs for Regan Anderson and Ken Fishbien and is trained by Molly Pearson.

Tribal Gal, champion Arizona-bred 3-year-old filly of 2013, was an authoritative winner of the $100,870 Oak Tree Distaff at the Oak Tree at Pleasanton meet on June 28. Mike Harlow has been named the director of racing/racing secretary at Turf Paradise for the 2014-2015 meet, slated to begin on Oct. 18. Shawn Schwartz will serve as Harlow’s assistant. Harlow had served as racing secretary at Turf Paradise from 1994 to 1999, prior to filling that role at Santa Anita through 2011.
