New Turf Paradise stakes event for 2-year-olds

The Turf Paradise Spring Futurity is a new open race for 2-year-olds with bonuses available for Arizona-breds and horses that passed through the 2016 ATBA Fall Mixed Sale.

A nomination payment of $100 on Dec. 15, 2016, and a $250 payment on March 1, 2017, are required for eligibility. The entry fee for the race is $500 and there are no supplemental nominations. Trials are to be run on Saturday, April 15, at four and a half furlongs with the finals slated for Sunday, May 7, at five furlongs.

The ATBA is offering $15,000 in bonuses as follows for this race:

If yearling passes through the 2016 ATBA Sale – $5,000
If certified Arizona-bred – $10,000
If certified Arizona-bred and passed through
the 2016 ATBA Sale – $15,000

Board of Directors Election

Kacee Adams Richardson has been elected to join the Board of Directors, and four members were re-elected: Marvin Fleming, Scott Rollins, Lee Vaughn and Dave Williams. The elected officers are as follows: President – Marvin Fleming; Vice President – Jan Osborn; and Secretary/Treasurer – Wende Macumber.
