No Nay Never, a 2-year-old saddled by U.S.-based trainer Wesley Ward, set a juvenile course record while winning the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot on June 20. Joel Rosario rode the Scat Daddy colt, which ran five furlongs in :58.80. The win was the third at the Royal Ascot meeting, and first since 2009, for Ward, a nephew of ATBA Executive Director Dove Ward. No Nay Never was a winner in his debut at Keeneland in late April.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained race favorite, Coach House, finished second in a field of 14, beaten a length.
