Short-priced horses battled to the wire in both divisions of the ATBA Fall Sales Futurity contested at Turf Paradise on Nov. 3, with odds-on Senoradiablo up in time to edge second-choice Let Me Fly in the Fillies division, while front-running Loud N Proud just held on to beat favored Road Romeo in the Colts and Geldings division. Senoradiablo won her event in 1:11:30 for six furlongs, just a shade quicker than Loud N Proud’s 1:11:35 turned in two races earlier in the day.
Senoradiablo and Let Me Fly had won their respective divisions of the ATBA Fall Sales Futurity Trials held Oct. 15, and the main event featured a formful showdown of the pair. Let Me Fly had emerged with the lead in the stretch but Senoradiablo, a Kentucky-bred daughter of Flat Out, had just enough to inch clear by a neck. Senoradiablo is owned by Tim Bankers and trained by Manuel Ortiz.
Loud N Proud had been away from the races since winning at Prairie Meadows in June, but the second choice among eight starters had enough in reserve after opening a daylight lead in the stretch to hold off Road Romeo by a head. A Margie’s Wildcat gelding bred by Fleming Thoroughbred Farm, Loud N Proud runs for an ownership group that consists of Marvin Fleming, J. Lloyd Yother, William Gessmann and trainer Kevin Eikleberry. There was no trial event run for the Colt and Gelding division.
