The Oct. 15 Turf Paradise card featured a pair of trials for the upcoming ATBA Fall Sales Futurity – Fillies Division, and the day’s stakes action was highlighted by Senoradiablo’s flashy victory as the 1-10 favorite in the first of the two races. Second in the Turf Paradise Open Spring Futurity when last seen at the local track, Senoradiablo had summered at Emerald Downs and returned to Arizona in top form as the Kentucky-bred daughter of Flat Out ran away from the opposition to win the six-furlong event by nine and a half lengths in 1:09.92. Tim Bankers owns the filly, who was bred by Richard and Connie Snyder. Manuel Ortiz trains.
Two races later, Let Me Fly was a front-running winner at 2-5, winning by three and three-quarter lengths in 1:10.56. The daughter of Ez Dreamer was bred by Fleming Thoroughbred Farm and is owned by J. Lloyd Yother, Kevin Eikleberry, William Matthews and Marvin Fleming. Eikleberry trains the filly, who, like Senoradiablo, was earning her second career victory.
The ATBA Fall Sales Futurity events will be contested on Nov. 3. There was no trial run for the colt and gelding division this year.
