The Joanne Dye Stakes honors one of Arizona’s most active female supporters of racing. For many years Joanne Dye and her husband Gil operated the Arizona Thoroughbred Training Center, a full-service breeding and training facility in Phoenix. Joanne Dye served multiple terms on the Board of the ATBA as a director and also as Vice President. She is credited with acquiring the current ATBA office and helping to establish it as a mainstay on the grounds of Turf Paradise.
