Important Dates for Upcoming Turf Paradise Meet

The Arizona HBPA would like to remind horsemen of important upcoming dates:

Sept. 5 – Backside is open to start with stall preparation and barn setup
Sept. 12 – Backside is open to bringing in horses
Sept. 14 – Main track open for training
Oct. 14 – First day of live racing

The HBPA office will open on Sept. 5. Office hours from Sept. 5 through Sept. 8 will be 8 am through 12 pm. From Sept. 12 through Oct. 7, the office will be open 8 am to 2pm every day, except on weekends, when it will be closed.

The Turf Paradise Licensing Office also opens on Sept. 5. Licensing Office hours will be 8 am to 2 pm every day. Licensing applications are available online at www.racing.az.gov. For information, please call (602) 364-1709.

New Turf Paradise stakes event for 2-year-olds

The Turf Paradise Spring Futurity is a new open race for 2-year-olds with bonuses available for Arizona-breds and horses that passed through the 2016 ATBA Fall Mixed Sale. Board of Directors Election

Kacee Adams Richardson has been elected to join the Board of Directors, and four members were re-elected: Marvin Fleming, Scott Rollins, Lee Vaughn and Dave Williams. The elected officers are as follows: President – Marvin Fleming; Vice President – Jan Osborn; and Secretary/Treasurer – Wende Macumber.
